Viv Richards had led the West Indies team for almost one decade

Vivian Richards was one of the greatest batsmen in the cricketing history. He would dominate the opposition right from ball one and tear apart any bowling attack when he is on a song. He was a real swagger, and just like his batting style, his captaincy was equally aggressive.

Richards continued the domination from where Clive Lloyd had left off and was successful for almost a decade. In 50 Tests, he won 27 and lost only eight matches. In 26 Tests outside the Carribean soil, he led them to 12 wins and only six losses.

The former West Indies player was a ruthless captain and played an important role in taking the team the pinnacle of the game.
