#8 Mohammad Yousuf (Pakistan) - 17300 runs

Mohammad Yousuf's career ended abruptly ended in 2010 after the Pakistan Cricket Board decided to not select him for creating disciplinary problems and infighting within the team. The prolific run-scorer announced his retirement soon after but before that he amassed 17300 runs in international cricket.

During his Test career, he scored 7530 runs, including 24 centuries, at an impressive average of 52.29. Yousuf was close to the 10,000 run-club in ODIs as he needed just 280 runs to join the club but his untimely retirement meant that the Lahore-based cricketer had to end his ODI career with 9720 runs.

Tillakaratne Dilshan, one of the most innovative cricketers, is known for inventing the 'Dilscoop.' The aggressive right handed-cricketer became the first cricketer to scored hundreds in all formats as a captain. Dilshan made his Test and ODI debut for Sri Lanka against Zimbabwe in 1999.

While his maiden Test century came against Zimbabwe in the second Test of the series, Dilshan's maiden ODI hundred came against the Netherlands in 2006 in a historic match. Dilshan supported Sanath Jayasuriya's 157 by smashing an unbeaten 117. As a result of the two centuries, Sri Lanka posted the then highest ODI total of 443 runs. The record stood for more than 10 years before England scored 444.

Allan Border is one of the greatest Test batsmen the world of cricket has ever seen. At the time of his retirement, the Australian had many Test records to his name, having featured in more Tests, more consecutive Tests, more Tests as captain and more catches than any other player. While Sir Alastair Cook surpassed his record for the most consecutive Tests in June 2018, the record for most Tests and most Tests as captain now belong to Sachin Tendulkar and Graeme Smith respectively.

In addition to scoring 11174 runs in Tests at an average of 50.56, he also has 6524 ODI runs to his name. Border also held the record for the most Test runs before being eclipsed by Brian Lara in 2005. In both Tests and ODIs, he retired as Australia's most capped player and leading run-scorer.

Younis Khan, former Pakistan captain in all three formats of the game, remains the only player to have scored centuries in all 11 nations that hosted Test cricket. He is also the only Pakistan player to score 10,000 runs in Test cricket with 10,099 runs to his name.

Pakistan's greatest cricketer in the Test format has an average of 52.50 in 118 matches. He is one of the very few players to score more hundreds than the fifties i.e. more than 50 to 100 conversion rate. As a captain, his highest point came when he led Pakistan to their maiden T20I World Cup in 2000.
