Ambati Rayudu, the multi-utility player's first glimpse of talent came to light when he was signed by Mumbai Indians in 2010. Consistent performance in IPL and domestic circuit rewarded him with national call-ups in 2013.

He continued his rich vein of form with the Indian team only to be halted by injuries. This led to a huge downfall and his career was revived after he went berserk when promoted up the order in this year's IPL, scoring 602 runs at an average of 43 and magnificent strike-rate of 149.75. These eye-catching performances fetched him a place in the ODI squad which was bound to England for the ODI series.

His hopes of playing for India were dented ever since he failed the yo-yo test and was replaced by fellow Chennai teammate Suresh Raina. With Raina having a decent outing in England and Rayudu having fitness concerns, Rayudu's dream of playing the World Cup may not come true. His value, despite performing well, has gone down significantly.
