One of the most talked-about youngsters in the Indian domestic circuit, Shubman Gill, has forced everyone to take notice of his performances more than once. Owing to his remarkable run in the past couple of years, Gill also earned a maiden ODI call-up against New Zealand. However, he failed miserably in the two games that he played. Following that, he went back and churned out runs for Punjab and then made the opportunities count at India A level.

As a result, he was selected for the 3-match Test series against South Africa. Gill will soon be a regular name in the Indian team across all the three formats of the game, given his talent and hard work. Though he might face a challenge with other openers competing for the same spot in the T20I format, it is fair to say that Gill is a touch above the rest.

His T20I exploits in the last IPL season also convey a thing or two about his game. After being promoted to open from No.7 for Kolkata Knight Riders, Gill lived up to the decision. He has shown his skills, dominated the opening position for his franchise and even presents a case to open for India in the future.
