England hosted Australia for a 5-matches ODI series in 2015. After losing the first ODI by 59 runs, England was looking to make a comeback into the series and level the series.

In the second ODI, controversy erupted when Ben Stokes was declared out obstructing the field. During the 26th over chasing a total of 310, the English all-rounder hit the ball off Mitchell Starc straight to the bowler. Starc threw it straight back at the stumps and Ben Stokes in his attempt to save himself from run-out, used his hand to stop the ball.

The keeper Wade appealed and then everyone including the bowler appealed for obstructing the field and Ben Stokes had to walk back to the pavilion.
