Over the years, West Indies have produced some of the most prominent exponents of fast bowling, but Ravi Rampaul was a gem of a bowler who never had enough scope to shine. At the age of 19, the speedster debuted at the back of his enormous potential.

Although Rampaul failed in his early days, he became a star performer for the West Indies as his career advanced. During his career, he took over 160 international wickets and played all formats of the game.

A bustling fast bowler who was known to trouble batsmen with his pace and movement off the pitch, Rampaul's ancestors were from Asia and are understood to have moved to the Caribbean Islands to look for better possibilities from a work perspective.
