Cricketers and their association with football has been becoming a mainstream thing now where the players are often seen trying a hand in football. Many famous cricketers have in the recent past talked about their love for the game and have also been vocal about the football club they support.
English cricketers have come out to be passionate followers of some of these either because they were brought up in that city or were impressed with the game of that club. But fans are mostly unaware of it and are interested in learning about these followings. Here are 5 such English cricketers and their favourite football clubs:
#1 James Anderson - Arsenal
James Anderson has been England’s prime bowler for a while and has a reputation of destructing the opposition with his pace and swing attack. However, he has had a rather dismal on-going series against India where he hasn’t be able to weave his magic with the ball. He also was part of a heated conversation with Ravichandran Ashwin and Virat Kohli during the 4th Test in Mumbai that didn’t go down will with his stature.
However, Anderson follows football passionately despite having commitments to cricket and his team. Though he claims that he follows Burnley’s development since it being his hometown, he is also an avid Arsenal fan and has been seen many a time during Barclays Premier League matches.
The 34-year-old is not in good form and will be missing the 5th Test against India in Chennai.
