2. First Indian batsman to score a century in the 1st session of a Test match

India haven't missed the maverick of Virender Sehwag at the top since Shikhar Dhawan has been around. The Test match started with a bundle of emotions for Afghanistan as they were about to play red-ball cricket for the very first time, However, Dhawan stole the limelight on Day 1.

The swashbuckling Indian opener took a liking to the young Afghani bowlers, and more notably smeared the figures of his Sunrisers teammate and No.1 T20 bowler in the world, Rashid Khan.

He left no stone unturned in making a mark in the Test before the all-important England series. The Delhi batsman flashed his way to a century before Lunch on Day 1, becoming the first Indian batsman to ever do so and the sixth overall. It took him 87 balls to achieve the milestone.

The Gabbar that we saw in his Test debut against Australia, where he scored the fastest century (in 85 balls) by a player on Test debut was once again there for everyone to witness.

Before Dhawan, Virender Sehwag came close to becoming the first Indian to score scoring a hundred before lunch when he blasted 99 off 75 on the first day of the 2nd Test against West Indies at St Lucia in June 2006.
