This was the only T20I of the tour and produced a disastrous result as far as Bangladesh were concerned. The visitors, Bangladesh, batted first after winning the toss but were skittled out for just 78 from 17.3 overs, on the back of a sensational spell of bowling from NZ skipper Daniel Vettori, who picked up 3/6 from four overs including big wickets of Mohammad Ashraful and Mushfiqur Rahim.

New Zealand raced to the target in just 8.2 overs, with Brendon McCullum top-scoring with 56* (27b, 7x4, 2x6) and Peter Ingram supporting him with an unbeaten 23-ball 20.
