6 West Indies power hitters who could attract good bids in this year's IPL auction
- West Indian players would be hot property at the auction
5. Sherfane Rutherford
He is just 20-years-old and he has made a name for himself for his massive shots in the CPL. He scored 171 runs in seven innings in the CPL, by batting at number 6 or 7 for his team. Rutherford became instrumental in finishing many games for his team Guyana Amazon Warriors in the CPL.
In a match against TKR, Rutherford scored 45 runs off just 13 balls. He tore apart the most experienced and balanced bowling attack of the CPL. He hit six sixes and a four in that innings. Rutherford didn't get a chance in the T20 series against India. Rutherford would be on the radar of the franchise who want players like Pollard or Russell in their team. He is also a part-time handy medium pacer.
4. Fabian Allen
Fabian Allen is a spin bowling all-rounder who was part of St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the CPL 2018. He was inducted late into the side. But only in his three innings, he scored 119 runs with a strike rate of 188. His average was also 119 because he went not out two times in three innings.
He played a wonderful knock of 64 not out in just 34 balls against the Barbados Tridents to finish a significant match for his team. His team had lost five wickets when he came to bat. Allen is a good lower order pinch hitter who also bowls handy off-spin. Allen could be a good addition for many franchises in the IPL who lacks a batsman who is expert in lower order pinch hitting. Fabian Allen could be a good reserve for the franchise if their main players get injured.Published 06 Dec 2018, 09:58 IST
