6 West Indies power hitters who could attract good bids in this year's IPL auction
3. Rovman Powell
Rovman Powell is often seen as the next Andre Russell for West Indies. At the age of 25, Powell has garnered a reputation of the lower-order pinch hitter. He has become quite famous for his big-hitting abilities in the CPL. Powell's career rose up at the start of 2015 when he made his List A debut and was named Man of the Match named in his debut match itself.
Rowman showed his hitting abilities in this year's CPL. He had a thunderous strike rate of 162.06. In his 11 matches in CPL, he scored 329 runs at an average of about 54.83. He also hit 20 long sixes in those matches. Rovman has improved his batting as a lower order finisher. These kind of players are in high demand at the auction. Rovman will surely bag a mouth-watering deal at the IPL auction. Rovman has also shown fantastic form in the T10 league in UAE.
2. Nicholas Pooran
Nicholas Pooran is a 23-year-old wicket-keeper batsman of West Indies. He is known for his quickfire innings in the shorter format of the game. He has the ability to clear the boundary on his strength. He also plays lots of unorthodox shots in his innings. Pooran is currently in good form in the T20 cricket.
Pooran usually plays in the top-order but he was sent in the middle-order against India in the T20. He scored 53 runs in just 25 balls which helped his team to put a respectable target of 181. He is also performing brilliantly in the T10 league in UAE. He has scored five 40+ scores in the league, which include two fifties. Pooran could be a good buy for the franchises as he can bat anywhere in the order. He could also go for a heavy price at the auction due to his current form.
