Azhar Ali will partner Warner at the top. He has been a prolific run scorer for Pakistan in the longest format of the game. He is one of the few Pakistan players to make his Test debut before playing an ODI.

Having made his Test debut against Australia at Lord's, he scored a match-winning 51 in his second Test at Leeds. Since then, he has been in good form in the Test format. He has scored three double hundreds which includes a triple ton against West Indies.
