"Cricket is a religion" in the subcontinent is a misnomer. Cricket is an everyday commodity that is present in almost every home and lane of the subcontinent. Be it 10-year-old kids, youth or those in the 80s, everyone likes to watch or play this beautiful game.

Cricket was invented in England, but it went on to grow in Asia, owing to the love and respect people gave it here. However, there is no denying the fact that non-Asian countries are still dominant when it comes to big trophies like the World Cup.

Out of the eleven 50-over, World Cups played so far, Asian countries have just won four, including two by India and one each by Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, the current teams of Asia are filled with tremendous One-day players who have the capability to stun any opposition in the world. In this article, we bring you the Asian current best ODI-XI:

Openers (Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan)

A good start at the top is important to post or chase a good total in all formats of cricket. Asia is filled with good openers but those who can turn the tables against a strong opposition in tough conditions are hard to find, at the same time.

As the new ball has a lot to say in early overs, the openers must know how to tackle it by hitting an oddball boundary and saving themselves from the nicks. A right hand-left hand combination is always handy in the opening slot.

Keep these scenarios in the mind, India's Rohit Sharma would be the first-to-go choice. He plays aggressive cricket and knows when to go for shots and when to defend. He is currently in a very good form and might be the key for India in the coming World Cup as well.

Another Indian opener, the southpaw- Shikhar Dhawan is the best partner to accompany Rohit. He was excellent for his team during the recently held Asia Cup as well.

These two do have the ability to do well in every part of the world against any opposition.

Middle Order (Virat Kohli, Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik)

Virat Kohli

After openers, the job is to be done by the middle-order. Usually, spinners bowl during this phase, so you need to a few good spin playing batsmen in the middle. They should both save wickets and score runs.

Firstly, number three plays the major role and here, we have Virat Kohli to do that job. He recently did well in England and has got the capability to do it over and again in any part of the world. He also is the right man to lead the side, owing to the record he owns as captain in ODI cricket.

Besides number three, posterior batsmen should also contain the innings whether be during batting first or while chasing a total. In the current scenario, Pakistan duo of Babar Azam and experienced campaigner Shoaib Malik are the best names that can do this job.

Babar has been exceptional for Pakistan while Malik has shown a lot of promise recently. Moreover, both of them play spin very well.

Wicketkeeper/All-Rounder (Mushfiqur Rahim, Shakib Al Hassan)

A wicket-keeper has to both keep the wickets and bat well to make sure his team emerges on top. Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the first name that comes in the mind when it comes to wicket-keeping. However, he is struggling with the bat currently.

Now, the other known wicket-keeper who bats pretty well is Bangladesh's, Mushfiqur Rahim. He is a skillful cricketer and knows how to play big knocks around number five/six. He has been doing this job for Bangladesh for a long time now.

An all-rounder is equally crucial for a team in any sort of playing condition. Though if he can bowl ten overs and bat in the middle, his importance gradually increases.

In current Asian teams, there isn't a higher ranked all-rounder than, Shakib Al Hassan- the Bangladeshi warhorse. With a lot of experience and ability to deliver at big events, he can turn out to be a match-winner against any opposition.

Bowlers (Rashid Khan, Hassan Ali, Bumrah, Mustafizur)

Jasprit Bumrah

How strong your bowling unit is, surely increases your winning chances as a team. Excluding Pakistan, Asian teams mostly bank on its batsmen rather than the bowlers. However, currently, there is a good number of match-winning bowlers present in Asia.

Afghanistan's Rashid Khan is right now the best-limited overs spinner. The pace he bowls at and the variations he has got in his bowling makes him the first contender when it comes to spin bowling. The best thing is that he can even bat when required at the lower order.

Now moving to seam bowlers, taking wickets at top and bowling at right spots in the death is the main priority of fast bowlers.

India's seam-bowling spearhead and highly praised bowler, Jasprit Bumrah would surely lead the bowlers' column while Pakistan's Hassan Ali will be his co-head. Former is tough to play with the new ball while the later is the middle-overs specialist. The third seamer would be Mustafizur Rehman, Bangladesh's top pacer. He bowls odd cutters and can swing the ball both ways.

Now the Current best Asian XI which can defeat any opposition even outside subcontinent sums up as :

Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli (C), Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik, Mushfiqur Rahim (WK), Shakib Al Hassan, Rashid Khan, Mustafizur Rehman, Hassan Ali, Jasprit Bumrah.
