In Pictures: Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Nupur Nagar's marriage
November 23, 2017 saw, not one, but two of India's best modern-day fast bowlers tie the knot with Zaheer Khan getting married to Chak De India star Sagarika Ghatge and Bhuvneshwar Kumar getting hitched to childhood sweetheart Nupur Nagar.
While Zaheer Khan's wedding was a quiet affair carried out at a court in New Delhi, Bhuvneshwar Kumar's wedding ceremony was one of festivities which included the Haldi and Mehandi ceremonies as a lead up to the grand day today.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar nearly led India to victory in the opening Test against Sri Lanka with an 8-wicket haul at Eden Gardens before being released from the squad for his wedding.
Most of his Indian teammates couldn't make it to the wedding in Meerut as they are busy preparing for the second Test which gets underway at Nagpur on Friday.
They will, however, get a chance to meet the couple at a reception which is being arranged in New Delhi, the venue for the 3rd Test, on November 30.
Nupur works as an engineer and the two families have known each other for a long time but it was the Indian pacer who told his parents about his wish to marry Nupur and Bhuvneshwar's family readily agreed to the proposal.
The wedding day was a grand affair as relatives and friends of the couple made it a day to remember with their whole-hearted participation in the various events that unfolded on the wedding day.
Bhuvneshwar looked dashing in a Sherwani that had been bought from Kolkata while he also sported Jaipur-made ethnic shoes. The 27-year-old also wore a colourful turban which had been gifted by his sister.
Let's take a look at some of the best pictures from Bhuvneshwar Kumar's wedding day right from the time he made his way to the venue of the wedding.
Here's a video clip of the couple adorning each other with a garland.
