The St Kitts and Nevis Patriots were up against the Trinbago Knight Riders in their previous match. After being put into bat first by the Knight Riders, the Patriots got off to a blazing start, scoring 65 for the opening wicket in 6 overs. Evin Lewis took charge of the Patriots innings and scored 79 runs in 40 deliveries that included 4 boundaries and 8 sixes. Jonathan Carter and Shamarh Brooks finished the innings on a high note and helped the Patriots reach 180 in 20 overs.

Batsmen: 

Opener Evin Lewis top-scored for the Patriots with 79 runs and is currently the highest run-getter for the Patriots this season with 246 runs in 8 matches. Lendl Simmons was tried at the No.3 position but could not get going against the Knight Riders, scoring just 5 runs. Middle-order batsman Shamarh Brooks played an entertaining cameo of 35 in 19 deliveries and boosted the Patriots total to 180. Skipper Faf du Plessis was bowled by his opposite number Dwayne Bravo in the previous match and will be looking to do better this time round. 

All-rounders: 

Jonathan Carter could play a crucial role for the Patriots as he has shown that he can more than handle the heat for his team in the past few games. JJ Smuts can bowl with the new ball and has picked up a couple of wickets in this season. 

Bowlers: 

Krishmar Santokie is currently the highest wicket-taker for the Patriots, picking up 10 wickets in 8 matches at an economy rate of under 8 runs per over. Sheldon Cottrell has also done great on such short notice for the Patriots, picking up 8 wickets in 4 matches. Samuel Badree picked up a couple of wickets the previous time and will be a key player for the Patriots.

South African batsman Hashim Amla has returned back to the Knight Riders team and also scored 33 runs in the previous match against the Patriots. Amla is currently the highest run-getter for the Knight Riders with 357 runs in 8 matches and will need to give the Knight Riders a good start against the Patriots. Brendon McCullum has had a poor season, scoring 58 runs in 7 matches. Colin Munro displayed some fine batting shots in the previous game, hitting 3 sixes and a couple of boundaries for his 46 runs. 

All-rounders: 

Dwayne Bravo was expensive in the previous game and did not contribute much while batting for the Knight Riders and will be eager to do better this time against the Patriots. Kevon Cooper has been bowling well for the Knight Riders and has picked up 9 wickets in 9 matches. 

Bowlers: 

Sunil Narine was the pick of the bowlers for the Knight Riders in their previous match, conceding 27 runs and picking up 3 wickets in 4 overs. Nikita Miller could be used again as the second spinner in the team.
