David Miller earns Man of the Match for fielding | South Africa vs Pakistan, 1st T20I

South Africa defeated Pakistan in a high scoring thriller by six runs in the first T20I match at Cape Town. Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik won the toss and decided to field first. Brilliant knocks by Reeza Hendricks and Faf du Plessis laid the foundation for a big total. Hendricks and du Plessis added 131 runs for the 2nd wicket. David Miller scored only 10 runs off 12 balls as South Africa posted a total of 192 for 6 in 20 overs.

David Miller won the Match of the Match award for his fielding in the first T20I against Pakistan. Chasing the target of 193 runs to win, Hussain Talat and Babar Azam played with positive intent as the duo added 81 runs for the second wicket before David Miller came into action. David Miller produced a brilliant run out to dismiss Babar Azam for 38 runs with an excellent pick up and throw.

David Miller then took a simple catch to dismiss Asif Ali and then produced a sensational catch at the boundary to dismiss Imad Wasim for 4 runs. Pakistan were struggling at 118 for 5 at that moment.

In the 18th over, David Miller took another catch at the boundary to dismiss Hasan Ali for 11 runs. When things got tight, Miller dismissed Shoaib Malik to help South Africa win the match by just 6 runs. For his fielding efforts, David Miller was named Man of the Match.

Pakistan are currently playing in a three-match T20I series against South Africa. Pakistan previously lost the Test and ODI series on the tour. They will play against Australia and England in ODI matches before they go on to play the World Cup 2019 in England.
