The Men of the moment- Kohli and Bumrah

Shikhar Dhawan-6/10

The opening batsman might not have scored many runs but the start he gave with Rahul was instrumental in India getting a respectable score and gain a lead.

KL Rahul-6.5/10

His performance was similar to that of Dhawan but what edges him ahead is the important catches he took in the slips. His catching was the one of the chief architect in the victory

Chesteshwar Pujara-6.5/10

India hoped for certain individuals to come good with bat and Pujara was one of them. His fluent knock 72 in the 2nd innings would have made his place safe in the team.

Virat Kohli-9.5/10

He has had a near perfect match. He almost scored twin centuries in the test and is in form of his life. His catching in the slips is incredible and has done a commendable job in bouncing back as Captain after twin defeats.

Ajinkya Rahane-7/10

He is another batsman like Pujara who India would have hoped to see score runs under their belt. He played brilliantly along with Kohli in the first innings to steady the ship and that took the total past 300.

Hardik Pandya-8.5/10

He performed well both and ball. He inspired a batting collapse in England's first innings by taking a fifer and this helped India gaining massive first innings lead.

Rishabh Pant-7/10

Though he did not do much with the bat, his performance behind the stumps was fantastic. He claimed 5 dismissals in his debut.

Ravi Ashwin-4/10

He didn't have much to do with the bat or ball. Since the fast bowlers took care of everything, he was not needed and was injured for the most part of the game.

Mohammad Shami-6.5/10

He bowled well in few spells breaking some crucial stands but was expensive once again. His inconsistency is one of India's worry going forward in the series.

Ishant Sharma-7.5/10

In both the innings, he was one who got the openers. He might not have taken many wickets but he always bowled probing line & lengths.

Jasprit Bumrah-8.5/10

The most successful of the Indian pacers claimed a fifer and always attacking the batsmen. He was instrumental in England's collapse in their 2nd innings.
