Pakistan's former batsman Mohammad Yousuf has a record of scoring most runs in a calendar year in Test cricket. This record was achieved by him in 2006 when he made a whopping 1788 runs from 23 innings in 11 matches to surpass Richards. In this time period, he also scored nine centuries and three half-centuries.
