Harbhajan Singh to tie knot with longtime girlfriend Geeta Basra

Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh is all set to marry his longtime girlfriend actor Geeta Basra later this month in a glittering ceremony near Jalandhar, Punjab, reports NDTV. The Grand Punjabi wedding is scheduled to take place on 29th of October with the reception happening on November 1st in New Delhi.

The spinner’s family has reportedly booked Hotel Club Cabana on Phagwara Road, located about 20 km away from Bhajji's hometown, Jalandhar. The couple have left no stone unturned when it came to fashion and tradition for their wedding.

According to the sources, Geeta has opted for Ghaghras for all the important occasions, including the Sangeet, Mehendi, Wedding and Reception. Her ceremonial dresses have been designed by Archana Kochhar and Babita Malkani while her wedding dress will be a stunning heavy Ghaghra in red and gold. Harbhajan will wear a Sherwani by Raghavendra Rathore.

The event is set to be the biggest celebrity wedding of this year, with festivities spread over a period of five days. Reports further reported that the preparations have already began and are in full swing in both the households.

Though the official wedding is on the 29th of October followed by a grand reception on November 1st, there will, however, be the Sangeet ceremony on the 27th and the Mehendi ceremony on 28th October. The Sangeet ceremony is set to take place in Bhajji’s house, for which only close friends of the cricketer are being invited. While the Mehendi will be organised in Geeta’s maternal aunt’s home, TOI reported.

For the Grand Reception, a choreographer has been hired to teach some filmi dance moves to key members of both the families. Bhajji, an amateur dancer, is also expected to show some Bollywood moves. The guests at the wedding include cricket stars like Yuvraj Singh, Virat Kohli and many Bollywood celebrities. Some of the South African cricketers too may be invited for the wedding.
