Lower-middle order: Dinesh Karthik and Hardik Pandya
Virat Kohli virtually confirmed that Dinesh Karthik will play in the second T20, and with this second wind in his career as finisher, number 6 seems like the ideal position for Dinesh Karthik to bat in. Since March of this year, Karthik has been in tremendous form, and it all started in the last time he played a T20 for India, in the Nidahas Trophy. Since then, he had a tremendous IPL, finishing many matches for his team, the Kolkata Knight Riders. With India looking for someone to shoulder the finishing responsibilities along with MS Dhoni, Karthik will look at this as an opportunity to further his case for inclusion in the ODI and T20 sides.
Given the importance of the seam-bowling all-rounder in English conditions and the fact that Hardik Pandya is the only such player in India's 15-man squad, the management of the Indian team will be looking to give him as much game time as possible before the big tour of England - and this seems like a good opportunity to do so.
