India will face minnows Ireland in a Twenty20 series to be held in Dublin in June 2018. In a rare event, India will be playing the Irish at their homeland after 11 years. India will look to rest a lot of their key players and give an opportunity to the youngsters like they did in the recent tri-series involving Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
India will travel to Dublin to face an Irish side that recently played their qualifiers for the 2019 World Cup. The series will consist of two T20 internationals to be held on the 27th and 29th of June 2018.
The stadium will also host a women’s international match between Ireland and Bangladesh on the same day of the second men’s match.
The last meeting between the two was in the 2009 ICC T20 World Cup in a group stage match. Ireland put up a poor display setting a target of just 113. India managed to win by 8 wickets, thanks to Rohit Sharma’s half-century.
