#2 Winning despite experimenting
A major reason why the Indian team have had the freedom to chop and change their composition at will has been their recent form in limited-overs games, including their run to the final of the Champions Trophy. Since their loss to Australia in ODIs early last year, they have emerged victorious in a line of series against Zimbabwe, New Zealand, England, West Indies and Sri Lanka, all with adequate amount of experimentation.
Rohit has the leeway to give youngsters a chance and experiment further, but he’ll have the recent track record at the back of his mind as well.
