Stats: Rohit Sharma shreds record books with third 200 in ODIs

After a horrid start to his Indian captaincy stint at Dharamsala, Rohit Sharma came back to form in some style, taking the Sri Lankan attack to the cleaners with a breathtaking knock of 208, smashing a number of records in the process.

Assisted by Shikhar Dhawan at the start of the innings, and Shreyas Iyer thereafter, Rohit Sharma launched his pyrotechnics all over Mohali, changing gears as the innings neared the 40 overs mark by taking Suranga Lakmal, India's tormentor in the first game, by the scruff of his neck to finish with his third double-hundred in ODIs, by far the most by anyone ever.

He ended with the second highest score by an Indian skipper in ODIs ever, and proved how the burden of captaincy did little to affect his magical batting touch in the 50-overs format.
