India Women are set to host South Africa Women in a multiformat series. The tour will kickstart with the ODI series, followed by the one-off Test match and three T20Is, as announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The ODI series is scheduled to begin on Sunday, June 16, and will end on Sunday, June 23.
A total of three ODIs will be played between India Women and South Africa Women to begin the multiformat series. All three ODI matches are set to be played at the iconic M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Before the ODI series and the beginning of the multiformat series overall, South Africa Women also have a warm-up fixture against the Board President’s XI at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Thursday, June 13.
The three ODIs are also a part of the ICC Women's Championship 2022–2025. Therefore, both teams will be keen to play their best cricket and gain crucial points.
The ODI and T20I matches were originally a part of the ICC Future Tours Programme (FTP) in late 2023. However, they had to be pushed ahead due to the 50-over Men’s ODI World Cup that was held in India last year.
Seasoned campaigner and experienced Indian all-rounder Harmanpreet Kaur will lead the hosts in the ODI series. As far as South Africa Women are concerned, top-order batter Laura Wolvaardt has been named as their skipper for the one-day series.
