South Africa Women's Cricket team will be visiting India this September-October for a 5-match Twenty20 International series and a yet to be confirmed One-Day International series.
All the five T20 matches would be played at Lalbhai Contractor Stadium at Surat. The T20 series begins on 25 September. Fans are excited to watch the India Women vs South Africa Women teams, two of the major teams in International women's cricket locking horns.
Twelve pitches have been prepared for the five-match series. Each of the five matches are going to be day/night encounters. So floodlights will surely come into play. The newly renovated 8000-seater stadium in Gujarat is equipped with two state of the art pavilion as well as floodlights as the stadium enrolled for an international status. Hosting South Africa Women in India is going to be the stadium's first international fixture. SDCA finally got an opportunity after being in constant request to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the past ten years to host an international fixture.
There are going to be two warm-up matches which will be played before the five internationals. The T20 matches will be played on September 25, 27, 30 and October 3 and 5. All the five matches will commence at 2:30 p.m. sharp. The squads for both teams are yet to be announced.
As far as televised broadcasting of the matches is concerned, there hasn't been a confirmation on the matter yet. But being day/night matches the authorities are hoping for a maximum crowd attendance.
The ODI series is being planned to be played at Baroda. The series wouldn't be a part of the Women’s Championship. Although the number of matches and the dates are yet to be ascertained by the two concerned national boards.
The South African Men's Cricket team will also be touring India this September-October. The India vs South Africa series between the Men's teams will constitute of three T20 Internationals and three Tests. The tour commences on 15 September and will end on 23 October.
