Commentary

Harman collects the ODI trophy before proceeding to pose with her jubilant camp of players and the support staff as well. This has been a dominating series win for them. South Africa, on the other hand, had their moments reducing India to 99/5 in the first ODI and almost chasing down 326 in the second match on the back of twin hundreds from Wolvaardt and Kapp. But India held their nerves on both the occasions. Today, they were totally outplayed and India come out as deserving winners with a scoreline of 3-0. The action now moves to Chennai where the one-off Test match will be played first starting on Friday. Women's test matches are few and far in between and you certainly do not want to be missing that. Harmanpreet Kaur (India Women captain) : Touchwood (on everyone performing).The last two camps that we had really helped us and gave us a lot of confidence. A lot of credit needs to go to the bowlers, these conditions are not easy to bowl in but they have been outstanding. I always tell the bowlers to stick to their strengths, give them the field placements and keep backing them. Really happy to see them improving. We will definitely enjoy our win tonight. But then, the Test match is coming up and then the T20s.

Unsurprisingly, Smriti Mandhana has been named as the Player of the Series. Here's what she said: Unfortunately, got out today. Was batting better than the first two matches but those kind of shots, those things happen in cricket. But really happy we won all the three matches. The bowlers bowled really well today, to keep them to 210 on this kind of wicket wad really good. We have a big home season coming up, a Test match and the T20s, the Asia cup and then the big World Cup. We have had good camps and Amol Sir worked really well on us and that was very important. I don't think after today's over I will get the bowl again (laughs). Good to add skills, got luck with the wicket.

Deepti Sharma is the Player of the Match, here is what she had to say: I mean I enjoyed a lot, thankfully I managed to deliver according to the plans. I always back my stock ball and keep myself ready for every situation. It depends on the conditions and the situations. I try to read the situation and bowl accordingly.

Laura Wolvaardt (South Africa captain): Yeah obviously didn't have enough runs on the board. Taz and I had a decent start. Unfortunate to lose wickets and not build partnerships after the opening stand. Well looking at how they chased, we needed 300. They were well on track to even chase down 300. A few dismissals were unlucky but it's part of the game. We have played good cricket in patches, nearly chasing 300 the other day but was very good but we need to improve in our consistency in the bowling department. We don't play too much red ball cricket, not sure what to expect. We have two days to refresh and I am very excited for the challenge.

Shreyanka Patil : I really wanted to get Marizanne Kapp out. Had visualized it last night, making the batter drive to covers or mid-off and then take a return catch. Whenever the captain asks me to bowl, I am more than happy to do it.. Today I did not know I was going to open the bowling. When we won the first match, we knew we had to keep repeating it. Once we had momentum, we wanted to make it 3-0. The approach from the batters was really good today. The bowlers tried to do some different things in the death overs..

Arundhati Reddy : I have never been great at taking caught and bowled chances but was lucky today. It was a good opening partnership for them, we needed to take a wicket at that point. Just stuck to the plans we had made at our meetings. The wicket was a bit slower today, so the adjustments had to be made. Use a lot of slower ones and stick to them consistently.

Matches finished off by Indian wicketkeepers with a six over long-on have a history of being special for the Blues and this one too is really special too as they complete a 3-0 drubbing over the Proteas. Absolutely convincing, clinical and comprehensive from the Indian women who register yet another victory over their South African counterparts to complete the clean sweep.

The target of 216 was never going to be enough on this Chinnaswamy wicket against an in-form Indian batting lineup and it indeed proved to be not even close to enough.

Smriti Mandhana is in the form of her life and she made sure that she did not miss out. Today, her opening partner Shafali got a start and looked good as the duo stitched a 50-plus partnership for the first time in the series. There was a bit of movement on offer initially but the South African bowlers were guilty of bowling too many poor deliveries. They leaked the pressure and made the chase easy for the batters. Spinners got some turn as well but the likes of Shangase could not make use of it and were poor in execution.

Shafali got out after a well-made 25. Then, Priya Punia, given an opportunity today at 3, looked good and got off to a good start herself but she too fell in the 20s. The two best batter for India then, Mandhana and skipper Kaur combined again and took India close to the target as the bowlers continued to leak runs.

Mandhana fell on 90, just short of a third consecutive hundred but yet again she played an exceptional innings today. Skipper Kaur and Jemimah applied the finishing touches then before Harman was run-out at the very end only for Richa Ghosh to walk out and finish it off with a six.

40.4 Tumi Sekhukhune to Richa Ghosh, SIX! Richa finishes it off in style. In the slot around the middle stump, Richa clears his front leg and slams this back over the bowler's head for a straight six. India win by 6 wickets and pocket the series 3-0.

Agonizing run out for the Indian skipper, she will not be able to finish off the chase but she has played her part and has brought her side on the brink of a clean sweep.

Back of a length delivery outside off. cut away by Jemi down towards the point region and sets off for a single, Harman was a bit slow off the blocks and might just be short as the stumps are hit direct. Harman might just be short of her crease here. TV umpire looking for a split screen, the batter seems to be just short of her crease here. Harman goes for 42 but that wont have an eventual bearing on the result.
