New jersey for Indian cricket team unveiled

The Indian cricket team released the jersey for the ICC World Cup 2019, which is to take place later this year in England.

Team India captain Virat Kohli was present at the launch ceremony alongside MS Dhoni, Prithvi Shaw, and Ajinkya Rahane. Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues were present for the ceremony as well.

Sponsored by Nike, the jersey has been made from recycled material once again. The last time this was done was for the World Cup in 2015, where the jersey was made with recycled bottles.

The colour of the jersey is pretty much the same as it is now. The sleeves are a lighter shade of blue when compared to the rest of the jersey while "India" is sewn across the center in orange. There is an orange stripe on either side of the jersey as well.

Usually, three stars were sewn above the BCCI logo, representing the three World Cups India have won. However, this time around, the three stars can be found at the back of the jersey.

The grand tournament, which features just 10 teams this time around, will begin on May 30. India will play their first match of the tournament on June 6 against South Africa.

The Men in Blue are currently taking on Australia at home and will begin their five-match ODI series from tomorrow, March 2nd, 2019. They recently suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Australia in the recently concluded T20I series which was held in Vishakhapatnam and Bengaluru.

They will look to get back to winning ways with the first ODI taking place in Hyderabad tomorrow. Earlier in the year, India defeated Australia in the Test series and ODI series which was held in Australia.
