Is A.B DeVilliers breaking Graeme Pollocks record right?

First of all I must congratulate A.B.DeVilliers on his very fine knock of 278 unbeaten in the game currently going on against Pakistan.Though I must ask this question:Was he right in breaking Graeme Pollock’s record of 274?I ask this from the respect of test cricket is about upholding the heritage and traditions of the game.Like Mark Taylor in Peshawar in 1998. When he reached the iconic Don Bradman‘s mark for the highest score by an Australian of 334.Instead of breaking the record he declared on himself to show respect to the traditions of the game. Here on a very dead batting friendly pitch against a team that been brought to it’s knees in Pakistan due to suspensions to three of it’s best players.Unfairly it must be said by the ICC in regards to no guilt has yet been proven.Ask yourself if Asif and Aamer were free to play would A.B.DeVilliers have got this score? So rather than show respect to the man that South African’s see as their Don Bradman in Graeme Pollock and declare near the mark.A.B.DeVilliers goes for the record supported by his captain Graeme Smith. When in truth they could have and should have declared around 450 due to the nature of this pitch.
