Two runs and two wickets! Bumrah strikes off his first ball as Maxwell(56) gets an inside egde and the ball goes on to hit the stumps. Then on the fifth ball, he removes Naik for 1.

Mitchell McClenaghan comes back in to the attack for Mumbai Indians and gives away just six runs! Beautiful over!

Pollard is back in to the attack as Maxwell reaches his fifty. Miller shows his power and hits Pollard over the mid-wicket boundary for a six on the fifth ball!

Glenn Maxwell shows his power as he hits Southee over long on for a huge six on the second ball. But Marsh(45) gets dismissed on the last ball as Rayudu takes a simple catch. 9 runs came off Southee's last over!

Marsh hits Harbhajan for a six on the last ball of his spell. Harbhajan finishes with 0-31 in his four overs. Ten off that over!

Harbhajan continues from the other end. It was a tidy over till the fifth ball but on the last ball Maxwell hits him for a four in the extra cover region.

Jasprit Bumrah is introduced in the attack by Rohit Sharma and he strikes on the fifth ball to remove Manan Vohra, who made just 7 runs.

Mitchell McClenaghan from the other end for MI. Vijay flicks him on the first ball for a four and then hits another four on the fifth ball. Eventually, nine runs are scored off that over.

Tim Southee bowls the first over for Mumbai Indians as Murali Vijay is dropped by Krunal Pandya on the third ball. Tidy over, only 1 run came off it.

MI 189-6 after 20 overs

Mohit bowls the last over of the innings and what an impressive over that was! Just 4 runs off that over as Mohit removes Pollard and Hardik on the last two balls with Mumbai Indians ending on 189-6.

Johnson comes on to bowl his last over and dismisses Parthiv for 81 off 58 balls as he gives a simple catch to Marsh at point. Hardik Pandya hits him for four on the last ball, 9 runs come off that over.

Buttler hits Mohit for two consecutive fours in the fine leg region with two scoops. But then on the fifth ball, Mohit deceives Buttler with a slower ball and gets castled for 24. Eleven runs came from the over.

MI 165-2 after 17 overs

Sandeep comes on to bowl his last over as Buttler plays an innovative scoop shot towards third man for a four on the second ball. Decent comeback, just 9 runs off that over.

MI 156-2 after 16 overs

Parthiv continues his assault as he hits a six off the first ball and then Buttler hits Sahu on the third ball for a six. Another big over as 16 runs are scored.

MI 140-2 after 15 overs

Mumbai Indians batsmen are cutting loose as Rayudu hits Axar for two sixes off the first two balls before holing out in the deep on the third ball. Rayudu goes for 65, good catch from Manan Vohra in the deep. 15 runs are scored in that over.

Parthiv Patel looks in fine touch now as he plays an uppish cover drive for four off Johnson. On the fourth ball, Parthiv hits Johnson again over mid-wicket for a four. Then is dropped by Mohit at mid-off . 11 runs come in that over.

Mohit Sharma is re-introduced in the attack but he cannot stop Parthiv from reaching his fifty. Then, Parthiv hits Mohit for two consecutive fours as 13 runs are scored in that over.

Mumbai Indians are on the attack as Ambati Rayudu hits Axar Patel for a six and a four off the first two balls and on the third ball reaches to his fifty. Three singles on the last three balls as 14 runs are scored from that over!

Tidy over from Pardeep Sahu for the first five balls but Pathiv hits a six off the last ball. 10 runs came off that over as Mumbai Indians are going strong!

On the second ball, Parthiv survives yet again as he comes back in the crease just in time! Parthiv gets a thich outside edge as the ball races away for a four in the thirdman region. 8 runs came in that over. Axar needs to be consistent with his line.

Pardeep Sahu is introduced now as Rayudu cuts him on the third ball and the ball races away towards the boundary. On the fourth ball, Axar drops Rayudu. 9 runs come in that over.

MI 60-1 after 8 overs

Another change in the bowling as Maxwell rolls his arm over. Two runs are scored off the three balls, but then Rayudu uses his feet and plays a beautiful shot over long-on for a six. Eleven runs came off the over! Good phase for the MI batsmen as 35 runs are scored in the last 3 overs.

MI 49-1 after 7 overs

Mohit Sharma is introduced by Miller. MI batsmen score three singles before Parthiv guides the fourth ball towards the thirdman region for a four. At the end, ten runs are scored from Mohit's first over.

MI 39-1 after 6 overs

What drama in the over! On the third ball, Parthiv gives a catch to deep square leg but survives as Mithcell Johnson bowls a no ball. On the free hit as well, Parthiv is caught. Then he hits two fours to Johnson and a dot on the last ball. 14 runs came off that over!

MI 25-1 after 5 overs: Sandeep Sharma continues with his third over. Some respite for Mumbai fans as seven runs are scored from this over. Thanks to Ambati Rayudu's straight four over the head of the bowler.

MI 18-1 after 4 overs: First change in the bowling as Axar Patel is introduced by David Miller. Five singles over scored, three from Rayudu and two from Parthiv.

MI 13-1 after 3 overs: Another beautiful over from Sandeep Sharma as Parthiv Patel manages to score just two runs of a well-timed cover drive. Mumbai Indians need to start scoring now.

MI 11-1 after 2 overs

Parthiv Patel hits Mitchell Johnson for two beautiful boundaries, one on the off side and one on the leg. Eventually, nine runs came off that over.

MI 2-1 after 1 over

Sandeep Sharma strikes on the second ball as Mumbai Indians lose their captain Rohit Sharma for 0. Ambati Rayudu scored the first run as two runs came in the first over.

KINGS XI PUNJAB: Punjab seems to be a pale shadow of the 2014 campaign. Nothing seems to be working for them. Their batting has fared miserably and the bowling too looks toothless. David Miller the captain still maintains that they are still in the contention. This is a positive statement and the captain himself will need to walk the talk. He is in the midst of a torrid patch and cannot find any momentum. The captaincy seems to have bogged him down, well that is only a speculation to make, Miller would love to come out swinging and lead his team from the front. Glenn Maxwell is an impact player but he too has flattered to deceive on many occasions and he needs to step up and along with Miller he will have to be the nucleus of the team. The bowling stocks too look bare at the moment and both Sandeep Sharma and Mohit Sharma they have two bowlers who have the capability but are not delivering. Kyle Abbott has been very ordinary, and Mitchell Johnson might make the cut.

MUMBAI INDIANS:Mumbai have lost 4 games and once again find themselves languishing at the bottom half of the table, but this all so familiar for the perennial slow starters. They have the arsenal but have not clicked as a unit, and barring Rohit Sharma and Krunal Pandya none of the players have been consistent. However, they will still believe they can be world beaters if they play to their potential and their team too looks now settled. They have to identify crucial moments and win them in order to have that impact that wins games.

Considering the form of the teams and the players, Mumbai Indians will start as favourites but then matches are not won or lost on paper.

The pitch at Mohali has always been perfect for both bat and ball, and it renders an equal balance. The large boundaries at the ground has imparted further balance between bat and ball.

The weather will be hot and sultry but it is an open ground so it might cool down in the evenings under lights.
