At the airport, a reporter asked Rishabh Pant where Rohit Sharma was, as the duo share a close bond. Pant used Rohit's famous 'garden' comment from the previous England Test series in India in 2023 to give a funny reply. The wicketkeeper-batter said (via X):

"Garden, mein Ghum Rahe hain (He is roaming in the garden)."

When asked whether he would miss the garden during the upcoming England Test series, Pant replied:

"I am still playing Nitish Kumar Reddy at No. 6 as a batter"- Aakash Chopra picks India's playing XI for Test series vs England 2025

Former cricketer Aakash Chopra shared his choice of India's playing XI for the first Test against England during a recent discussion on Star Sports. He named Sai Sudharsan at No. 3 and moved Shubman Gill to the coveted two-down position, which is vacant after Virat Kohli's Test retirement. Chopra said:

"Shubman Gill is, of course, the captain. Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul as openers, Sai Sudharsan at No. 3, Shubman Gill at No. 4, and then Rishabh Pant. I am still playing Nitish Kumar Reddy at No. 6 as a batter who can give you a few overs, but primarily as a batter. Then Ravindra Jadeja, who is my all-rounder."

"Shardul Thakur is my all-rounder, but Shardul Thakur in English conditions, at the Leeds ground, is more of a bowler who can bat. I am considering him as a full bowling option. Then Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna," he added.

On Karun Nair's chances of making it to the playing XI, Chopra said:

"There will be temptation, there is no doubt about that. However, it needs to be considered who is playing where. If Shubman Gill decides he will remain at No. 3, you can play Karun Nair at No. 4. If Shubman Gill wishes to go to No. 3, I am going to put Karun Nair at No. 4."

The five-match Test series will commence on June 20 at Headingley, Leeds.
