Punjab Kings (PBKS) face Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 33rd match of the Indian Premier League 2024 on Thursday, April 18, at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur.

PBKS won the toss and elected to bowl. MI lost their first wicket in the third over but the rest of the batters played some crucial knocks. Suryakumar Yadav emerged as the highest scorer with 78 runs off 53 deliveries. His innings helped MI post a total of 192 runs for the loss of seven wickets on the board. Harshal Patel was the pick of the bowlers for PBKS with three wickets for 31 runs in four overs.

PBKS lost five wickets even before the seventh over was completed. Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma came to the rescue of the team once again. Ashutosh made 61 runs off just 28 deliveries, while Shashank scored 41 runs off 25 deliveries. However, PBKS fell short of the target by nine runs.

Gerald Coetzee and Jasprit Bumrah picked three wickets each. Bumrah was the most economical bowler in the match and gave away 21 runs in four overs. He was adjudged the Player of the Match.
