England opener Jacob Bethell fulfilled a fan's wish instantly by smashing a six off Alzarri Joseph in the second T20I against West Indies in Bristol on Sunday, June 8. The 21-year-old hit the maximum after a fan inside the venue held a placard that read:

"Score a 6 for my grandma."

The incident took place in the 16th over of England's run chase. Joseph bowled a slower delivery, an off-cutter outside off, and Bethell got forward to dispatch it over the bowler for a clean hit, resulting in a maximum. This was his second consecutive six off Joseph. The youngster slammed three sixes in the over before perishing off the last delivery.

In the match, Jacob Bethell smashed 26 runs off 15 balls at a strike rate of 260. The 21-year-old was equally brilliant in the first T20I. He scored a run-a-ball 23 not out and bagged two wickets as England won by 21 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

A clinical all-round performance helped England beat West Indies by four wickets in the second T20I. With the win, the hosts took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

Asked to bat first, WI put up 196/6 in their allotted 20 overs. Skipper Shai Hope and Johnson Charles chipped in with 49 (38) and 47 (39), respectively. Rovman Powell and Romario Shepherd contributed 34 (15) and 19 (11), respectively. Jason Holder provided the late flourish, scoring an unbeaten 29 off nine balls he faced.

Luke Wood emerged as the leading wicket-taker for England, returning with two scalps. Meanwhile, Brydon Carse, Jacob Bethell, and Adil Rashid bagged one wicket apiece.

In response, England achieved the target with nine deliveries in hand. Jos Buttler top-scored with 47 off 36 balls, while skipper Harry Brook, Tom Banton, and Ben Duckett chipped in with their 30s.

Alazarri Joseph scalped two wickets for WI, while Akeal Hosein, Jason Holder, Romario Shepherd, and Roston Chase bagged one wicket apiece.
