The second edition of the Maharashtra Premier League (MPL) is approaching the business end. The 27th match saw the Eagle Nashik Titans beat the Solapur Royals on the DLS method.
The Eagle Nashik Titans are at the top of the points table, despite losing on Monday. They have 12 points under their belt. They are followed by the Ratnagiri Jets who have 10 points and a net run rate of +0.579.
The Kolhapur Tuskers also have 10 points under their belt and are placed below the Jets with a net run rate of +0.327. Chhatrapati Sambhaji Kings suffered their fifth loss in the Maharashtra Premier League 2024. They follow the Tuskers with 10 points under their belt and a net run rate of -0.198.
The Solapur Royals are placed at the fifth position in the points table with eight points to their name. Puneri Bappa registered their third win of the competition but are still languishing at the bottom of the points table with six points.

The 27th match of the Maharashtra Premier League 2024 was reduced to 14 overs per side due to rain. After being asked to bat first, the Eagle Nashik Titans posted 156 on the board, thanks to a quickfire fifty from Atharva Kale (57 off 18).
In reply, the Solapur Royals kept losing wickets at regular intervals and kept falling behind the required run rate. Skipper Naushad Shaikh top-scored with 42 but it wasn’t enough. They finished their innings on 124/9 to lose the game by 30 runs on the DLS method.
Mukesh Choudhary grabbed four scalps for the Eagle Nashik Titans, which helped them defend the total successfully and grab their sixth win in the second edition of the Maharashtra Premier League.
In the 28th match, Puneri Bappa elected to bowl first and did a brilliant job of knocking over Chhatrapati Sambhaji Kings for a paltry total of 99 in 18.4 overs. Sachin Bhosale registered figures of 4/9 in his three overs, while Vivek Shelar and Roshan Kharat picked up three scalps each.
Chasing a modest total, Ramakrishna Ghosh top-scored with 35 for Puneri Bappa. He received good support from Yash Kshirsagar (29*) as they chased down the total in just 14.4 overs to beat Chhatrapati Sambhaji Kings by eight wickets.
