Ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah came up with an amusing quip, apparently towards Shubman Gill, as Team India arrived in London ahead of the Test series against England. India are set to play five Tests in England, starting June 20.

The Indian cricket team released a video on social media, showing the players along with head coach Gautam Gambhir arriving at the London airport. Players can be seen in the Team India travel kits.

Jasprit Bumrah's hilarious comment is the highlight of the arrival video. New captain Shubman Gill was wearing sunglasses, forcing Bumrah to say:

"Raat mein bande ne chashme pehne hue (He is wearing shades in the night)."

Towards the end of the video, batter Sai Sudharsan expressed his excitement to be a part of the Indian team.

"Welcome to the UK," the left-hander said.

Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, and Washington Sundar were among the few seen in the video.

No call taken yet on how many matches Jasprit Bumrah will play in the England series, says Gautam Gambhir

The England series marks the return of Jasprit Bumrah to international cricket. He last played in the 2024-25 BGT series in Australia before getting ruled out due to injury from India's home series against England and the 2025 Champions Trophy.

He also missed the initial matches of the IPL 2025 season but returned to play for the Mumbai Indians (MI) and had a lasting impact. It will be interesting to see how his workload is managed in a five-Test series.

In a press conference before leaving for the UK, head coach Gautam Gambhir said (via The Statesman):

"Always difficult to replace Bumrah but as I said in the Champions Trophy, it is an opportunity for someone to put his hand up. And there is enough quality there. We haven't taken that call. A lot will depend on the results in the series and we will have a discussion with him. That is something that I am sure he is also aware of."

The England series is crucial for India, marking the beginning of a new era in Test cricket under captain Shubman Gill, with Ravichandran Ashwin, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli retired from the longest format.
