India D wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson was dismissed cheaply on Day 2 of the 2024 Duleep Trophy match between India A and India D on Friday, September 13. The match is being played at the Rural Development Trust Stadium, Anantapur.

Samson walked out to bat after Yash Dubey's dismissal, with the score reading 44/3. He played an eye-catching stroke on the second ball to get off the mark with a boundary and would find himself on the other for quite some time, until the 18th over.

Samson was on strike and played a mistimed lofted drive down the ground off the bowling of Aaqib Khan, with Prasidh Krishna rounding up nicely and taking the catch.

Fans expressed disappointment with the Royals captain's rash stroke. Here are a few reactions from them:

One of them wrote:

"Sanju Samson is not a red-ball player. Poor shot selection. Goes for just 5. India A vs India D."
"I don’t know what’s wrong with sanju Samson. He is spoiling his career by himself. See Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ishan Kishan they are making sure their presence in cricket and proving each and every time whenever they get chances" a user stated
"AGAIN FAILED Sanju Samson scored only 5 Runs Now India A team score 62/4 #DuleepTrophy" another user said

Aaqib Khan then struck twice, with Yash Dubey giving his wicket away after a start and Sanju Samson being dismissed cheaply.

Earlier today, India A continued from their overnight score of 288/8 with Shams Mulani (89 off 187) partnering Khaleel Ahmed (16 off 15). The latter nicked one behind to the slip before Aaqib Khan became the last wicket to fall. Harshit Rana accounted for both dismissals.

At the time of writing this article, Devdutt Padikkal and Ricky Bhui are batting in the middle for India D. They are on 86/4 after 27 overs as lunch is taken.
