Team India star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant broke the roof with a big six during practice ahead of the Test series against England. India are set to play England in a five-match series, starting June 20.
Pant was batting in an open nets practice session ahead of the first Test. All-rounder Washington Sundar was bowling to the left-hander, who went down on one knee and smashed a six on the leg side. The ball went on to hit and break the roof.
Rishabh Pant was not in great form throughout the recently concluded IPL 2025 season. However, he scored a brilliant hundred in his last match of the season, which will give him some confidence.

India will aim for a fresh start in the England tour
After consecutive Test series defeats against New Zealand at home and Australia Down Under, India return to Test cricket after a considerable gap. They hosted England for a limited-overs series, played the 2025 Champions Trophy and also had the IPL 2025 season.
The team have been under scrutiny in the longest format following the defeats against Australia and New Zealand. Under the captaincy of newly appointed Test skipper Shubman Gill, and in the absence of stalwarts like Ravichandran Ashwin, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli, the upcoming England series will undoubtedly be challenging.
However, even with the team in a transition period, this will be a fresh start, marking the beginning of a new era for the Indian team in Test cricket. It also marks the start of the new World Test Championship (WTC) cycle for Shubman Gill and his team.
