New Zealand captain Kane Williamson once again failed to deliver in the 2024 T20 World Cup, this time in the ongoing match against the West Indies. The right-hander departed for just one run off two deliveries, thanks to a brilliant catch from wicketkeeper Nicholas Pooran on the second attempt.

The dismissal came in the seventh over of the Kiwis' run chase. Guadkesh Motie bowled a short delivery outside off that got extra bounce. Williamson went for a cut shot but ended up with a thick top edge that hit Pooran on the chest. The keeper used his presence of mind to hang on to the catch on the rebound within a fraction of a second.
