David Warner survived an easy run out chance on 32.

Max O'Dowd missed David Warner’s easy run-out chance in the 2023 World Cup match between Australia and Netherlands at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Wednesday, October 25. That came despite Warner and his batting partner Steve Smith were both charging at the non-strikers’ end.

The incident took place in the 17th over of Australia’s innings. Colin Ackermann bowled a delivery to Warner, who placed it towards the mid-wicket and took off. O'Dowd fumbled as he failed to collect the ball and the left-handed batter walked back in time despite him halfway down the track.

Warner was batting on 32 at that point.

Warner made the most of his opportunity. At the time of writing, Australia were 172/2 after 25.3 overs, with David Warner (80 off 63) and Marnus Labuschagne (9 off 7) at the crease.

The Australian opener recently smashed 163 off 124 balls, including nine sixes and 14 boundaries, against Pakistan.

David Warner and Steve Smith put Australia on top against Netherlands

Australia captain Pat Cummins won the toss and opted to bat first against Netherlands in the World Cup match. David Warner and Steve Smith (71 off 68) put the Aussies in the driving seat after Mitchell Marsh (9 off 15) fell early. The duo shared a 132-run partnership for the second wicket.

Logan van Beek provided the first breakthrough for the Netherlands by dismissing Marsh.

The Aussies have made a solitary change as Cameron Green replaced Marcus Stoinis in the playing XI.

Australia lost their first two games against India and South Africa by six wickets and 134 runs, respectively.

However, Pat Cummins-led side made amendments by defeating Sri Lanka and Pakistan by five wickets and 62 runs, respectively, to bounce back into the contest. They will now look to continue their winning momentum against the Netherlands.

The Netherlands, on the other hand, have stunned South Africa by 38 runs but lost to Pakistan, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka.
