Team India and Sunrisers Hyderabad all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy picked up his first international wicket in the form of Tanzim Hasan Sakib in the second T20I between India and Bangladesh. The match was played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.
After sharing the new ball with Arshdeep Singh and not having much success, Nitish was then reintroduced back into the attack and bowled the 18th over. He bowled a tight over and conceded only three singles before Tanzim Hasan Sakib holed out to Hardik Pandya at long on to become his first international wicket.
Take a look at the dismissal below:
Tanzim Hasan Sakib was dismissed for 8 runs off 10 balls. He had a bad day with the ball as well, finishing with figures of 2/50 in his four overs.
An all-round show from Nitish Kumar Reddy helps India register another win in this series
Batting first, the hosts found themselves in deep trouble at 41/3 but Nitish Kumar Reddy held his own and pulled them out of trouble. The 21-year-old was a bit slow to get off the blocks but a free hit off the bowling of Mahmudullah helped him change gears swiftly.
He got some momentum with a six after that free hit and went on to score his first international half-century. With the big hits he was playing, it looked as if he was on his way to scoring a maiden T20I century but was caught at covers, finishing with 74 runs off 34 balls.
With the ball, he would get success in his third over as he accounted for Tanzim Hasan Sakib and later dismissed Mahmudullah to register 2/23 in his four overs. For his all-round efforts, Reddy won the Player of the Match trophy.
