Some interesting scenes were witnessed after Day 1 of the first Test between India and Bangladesh in Chennai as captain Rohit Sharma, batter Shubman Gill, and coach Gautam Gambhir were seen doing some running. Both Rohit and Gill disappointed with the bat on the opening day of the Test.
India were 339-6 at stumps on Day 1 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Thursday, September 19, after being invited to bat first by Bangladesh. Ravichandran Ashwin (102* off 112) and Ravindra Jadeja (86* off 117) starred for the hosts with the willow, adding an unbroken 195 runs for the seventh wicket.
Earlier in the day, India got off to a disastrous start and found themselves in big trouble at 34-3 in the 10th over. All three wickets fell to Bangladesh pacer Hasan Mahmud (4-58). Rohit (6) edged a good length ball outside off that seamed away, while Gill (0) was caught down leg. Virat Kohli (6) was the third wicket to fall, caught behind as he chased a full delivery.
Meanwhile, a video is doing the rounds on social media in which Rohit, Gill, and Gambhir are seen doing some running at Chepauk following the end of the opening day's play. While the Indian coach and Gill sprinted rather energetically, the Indian skipper took a round of the ground in a comparatively relaxed mode.
