Ravi Shastri appointed Interim Director of Team India for Bangladesh tour

After a lot of speculation, BCCI has formally named Ravi Shastri as the interim coach of Team India for the upcoming tour of Bangladesh. The former cricketer has previously served as Team Director when Duncan Fletcher was the head coach. Sanjay Bangar will take on the responsibilities of the batting coach for the tour. Bharat Arun and R Sridhar will fill the roles of bowling and fielding coach respectively.

The complete coaching squad is expected to be finalised in consultation with the BCCI advisory committee by the time India tour Zimbabwe next month.

Shastri, Bangar, Arun and Sridhar were all appointed to the Indian team after the Indian team’s disastrous tour of England in 2014, and will continue in their roles.

As continuity, keeping Shastri & team in charge for Bangladesh is a good idea. But trust a permanent solution is round the corner
