The biggest reason behind Scotland's win was Callum MacLeod's monumental knock. MacLeod came in to bat at No.3 following the dismissal of captain Kyle Coetzer. A few minutes later, Matthew Cross was also dismissed and Scotland now had two brand new batsmen at the crease with a good 35 overs left.

MacLeod batted beautifully as he was carving some sensational boundaries off the England bowlers. MacLeod went on to score his 7th ODI century from just 70 balls was also the first by a Scottish batsman against England.

He went on to smash 16 fours and three sixes and ended his innings at 140 from just 94 deliveries as Scotland reached their highest ODI score of 371. As a matter of fact, during Scotland's previous record ODI score of 341, MacLeod was the top-scorer with a career-best 175.

Unsurprisingly, MacLeod was adjudged the Man of the Match for his sensational innings.
