Things off the field haven’t been as easy for Mohammed Shami in the last year or so. The Bengal pacer has been in some excellent form on the field but has had a lot to deal with off it.

Shami’s wife Hasin Jahan had made a number of allegations against Shami last year. This time around, he has been formally charged with domestic violence. The 29-year-old Indian cricketer has been charged with under dowry harassment (IPC 498A) and sexual harassment (354A). The charge sheet was filed by the Kolkata police in an Alipore court.

Shami’s wife Hasin Jahan did not have the details but said, “I have been told that police have submitted the charge-sheet mentioning IPC sections 498A and 354A.”

Shami recently finished an ODI series against Australia and will now take part in the IPL as he will represent Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). He is also certain to fly to England in May later this year as a part of India’s World Cup squad.
