Stats: Indian bowlers with most wickets in Border-Gavaskar Trophy, 2000/01
Harbhajan Singh, who was born today, will always be remembered for that extraordinary series he had against Australia in 2000/01.
No Indian fan will forget those 15 days of madness in March 2001. With India trailing the series 1-0 to one of the greatest team in the history, led by Steve Waugh, Harbhajan won the series on his own. He had some help from VVS Laxman and Dravid, but in bowling, it was almost a one-man show unmatched in the last two decades.
Consider this, Harbhajan took 32 wickets in that series. The next best from India were Sachin Tendulkar and Zaheer Khan, got just three apiece. That series also made Harbhajan the first Indian to take a Test hat-trick.
