Here is a list of players who have played the most number of matches as captain in the ODI matches between India and Australia. Having captained his team in 35 matches, Australia’s Ricky Ponting tops the list.

MS Dhoni, if he plays all the seven matches in the ongoing bilateral series, will end up just two short of Ricky Ponting’s record. It is highly likely that he will overtake Ponting down the line.
