Here is a list of most number of runs scored in an innings by a nightwatchman in the history of Test cricket. Australian fast bowler Jason Gillespie’s incredible effort of 201* against Bangladesh at the Chittagong Divisional Stadium in 2006 occupies the first spot in the list.

Coming in at number 3, Gillespie was also involved in a 320-run partnership with Michael Hussey in the Test match. Gillespie, besides being a top class bowler, was also known for his dogged batting abilities that helped Australia’s cause a number of times during his playing days.
