Three players who could be next Virat Kohli

Beniwal

The Indian skipper, Virat Kohli, is one of the best batsman, if not the best in the present generation of cricketers. The pace at which he scores runs is quite sensational. He has scored 10,385 runs with the help of 39 centuries and 48 half-centuries at an average of 60 in ODIs.

The right-handed batsman, born in Delhi, has 6613 runs with the help of 25 centuries and 20 half-centuries in 77 Tests for India. Recently, under his captaincy, India became the first Asian country to win a Test series in Australia against Australia.

The impact Kohli has made on the Indian cricket is simply outstanding. He has taught the team to fight in any condition, and with his aggressive nature, he does not let any player bog down in tough times.

At present, he seems to be miles ahead of all the other batsmen in the World Cricket. However, there are certain players who can come close or even match his level in the highest form of cricket.

Let us now look at the three players who could become the next Virat Kohli.

#3 Babar Azam

Mohammad Babar Azam, born in Lahore, is a top-order batsman for Pakistan and is the number one T20 batsman in the world currently. The 24-year-old made his ODI debut in 2015 against Zimbabwe. He has scored 2316 runs at an impressive average of 51.5 in 55 ODIs for Pakistan.

The right-handed batsman holds the record for most runs scored by any player in first 25 ODI innings. Babar also holds the record for the fastest player to score 1000 runs in T20Is.

He has already struck 9 centuries and 28 half-centuries in 102 International matches for Pakistan. Babar has already become Pakistan's mainstay in the batting lineup and is the most likely contender to be the next Virat Kohli.

#2 Prithvi Shaw

Just like Babar Azam, Prithvi Shaw has also captained his national side in the under-19 Cricket World Cup. The 19-year-old is constantly compared with Sachin Tendulkar because of his batting style, mainly due to the fact that they hail from Mumbai. However, Sachin was the greatest batsman of his time whereas Prithvi has just started his international Career.

The right-handed batsman hasn't played for India yet in the limited-overs format. He has only played 2 Tests, scoring 237 runs at an average of 118.5 for his country. He also has a hundred and fifty to his name at the highest level. Shaw holds the record for the youngest player in the history of Test cricket to score a century on debut.

He plays for Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League and is the youngest player to open the innings in the history of IPL. Shaw has a very sound technique and has the potential to become the next Virat Kohli.

Quinton de Kock, who hails from Johannesburg, is one of the best wicket-keeper batsmen in the world right now and is known for his aggressive batting and his fast work behind the stumps.

De Kock has scored 4113 runs, with the help of 13 centuries and 17 half-centuries, at an average of 45 in 98 ODIs. He also has 225 catches and 25 stumpings to his name in all the three formats of the game.

The left-hander has already scored 17 centuries and 33 half-centuries in his International Career. Quinton was named South Africa's 2017 Cricketer of the Year.

De Kock is only the second player to score four ODI centuries before the age of 21. The wicket-keeper batsman also holds the record for three consecutive centuries in ODIs.

He opens the batting for South African Cricket team in ODIs and holds the record for the highest partnership of 282 runs for the first wicket in the history of ODI Cricket.

The opener is also the fastest South African batsman to score 1000 ODI runs. With the age and form on his side, he is capable to become the next big thing in the World Cricket.
