T20I tri-series: England vs Australia, Player ratings

Ba
Marvelous all-round performance by Glenn Maxwell

Australia:

David Warner: 2.5/10

The bad run of form continues for the Australian skipper. He scored a beautiful four off the first ball, but got out immediately as he pulled the next ball to the deep square leg. However, as a captain, he had an amazing comeback after the start England had with the bat.

D'Arcy Short: 7/10

The highest scorer of the Big Bash continued his tremendous form in this match as well. He was extremely dangerous and was in his usual attacking best. However, he got out to Rashid's brilliant catch. He scored 30 off just 20 balls and gave a perfect start to the Australian innings and would've been upset for not completing the match.

Chris Lynn: 1/10

The big-hitting Lynn was outclassed entirely by Willey's brilliant swing bowling. He didn't affect the scorecard as he got out for a duck in two balls.

Travis Head: 2/10

A night to forget for the South Australian as he was smashed for 14 runs in an over with the ball. Apart from this, he played 13 balls and scored only six runs before losing the wicket to an inswinging yorker bowled by Willey.

Glenn Maxwell: 10/10

Undoubtedly Australia's best player of the night, Maxwell took three wickets in the two overs he bowled, conceding just ten runs. Moreover, he took the crucial wickets of the England skipper Morgan and Malan. With the bat, the all-rounder was back to his attacking best and targeted every bowler in the opposing squad. He scored a magnificent century and was the highlight of the game, winning the well-deserved Man of the Match award.

Marcus Stoinis: 5/10

The Australian all-rounder took the vital wicket of the dangerous Buttler. He was bowling a good line and length and conceded 16 runs in his two overs. His fielding was also exceptional as he saved a lot of runs on the boundary for his team.

Alex Carey: 5/10

The wicketkeeper didn't have much to do in the first innings except the easy stumping of Willey. With the bat, he scored five runs off five balls and supported Maxwell to finish off the innings.

Ashton Agar: 9/10

Similar to Maxwell, Ashton was equally good and bowled the perfect line and length in his three overs. He took two valuable wickets of Hales and Billings, both falling for his deceptive bowling.

Andrew Tye: 6.5/10

Tye was bowling a good line and length along with his slow bowling and was rewarded with the wicket of Curran. He finished his quota of bowling and conceded 28 runs in total.

Kane Richardson: 7/10

Similar to Tye, Richardson bowled four overs and conceded 27 runs. He also took the wicket of England opener, Jason Roy. He was quick and bowled the right line and length throughout his innings.

Billy Stanlake: 4/10

The Australian quick didn't have the best game as he conceded for 43 runs in his four overs.
