Kuldeep Yadav The rain Gods and the Indian bowling line-up have ensured that India will win the series and it the same factors that will decide whether the final scoreline will be 2-1 or 3-1. Kuldeep Yadav's five-fer restricted Australia to 300 in the first innings and follow-on was enforced on Australia in Australia for the first time in 31 years.India came into the match at the back of a huge victory and the storyline of the match at SCG has been similar to that at MCG. After winning the toss, India chose to bat first on a pitch which had almost nothing for the bowlers. At the start, Mayank Agarwal once again impressed one and all with a fine half-century. India's No.3 Cheteshwar Pujara then built a string of partnerships and put India in a solid position with his daddy hundred. After the dismissal of Pujara, a distraught Australian bowling line-up wanted some respite but a double century partnership between Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja ensured that Australia were almost out of the game. While the all-rounder scored a useful half-century, the 21-year-old recorded the highest score by an Indian wicketkeeper in SENA countries. With India's huge first innings total of 622 to chase, Australia started off well with two half-century partnership but the wicket of Marcus Harris derailed their innings. Kuldeep Yadav and Jadeja were the chiefs of destruction as they picked up five and three wickets each in the first innings. On Day 4, India picked up the remaining four Australian wickets and enforced a follow-on but the regular interruption of rain meant that only 25.2 overs were bowled. Four overs into the second innings, Australia haven't lost any wickets but they trail India by 316 runs. While the Australian batters might hope for some rain tomorrow, India will try to win the series 3-1.Here's how Twitter reacted to Day 4 of the final Test between India and Australia:Just 25.2 overs today. I know there is a protocol to be followed with light metres, and umpires are bound by that, but test cricket needs as much play as possible. Think you must play till as late as possible.— Harsha Bhogle (@bhogleharsha) January 6, 2019Cricket isn’t doing itself any favours....lights are ON...there’s NO rain....outfield and pitch are fine. But we still don’t play....understand that spotting the red ball is considered a little difficult under lights but spare a thought for the paying public!!! #AusvInd— Aakash Chopra (@cricketaakash) January 6, 2019Lala AmarnathTiger PataudiChandu BordeSunil GavaskarBishen BediKapil DevAzharSachinGangulySehwagKumbleMS DhoniIn two days time, the wait ends!— if Shrikant, who can? Since then Australia had played 172 Tests without ever following on at home before today.#AUSvIND #AUSvsIND— Rajneesh Gupta (@rgcricket) January 6, 2019Remember the old benchmark of 1000 runs in a Shield season? Happened nearly every year from 1987 to 2009. Now there's not a single active Shield player who has ever made 900 in a season let alone 1000. Not one player. That's where Australian batting is at right now.— Brydon Coverdale (@brydoncoverdale) January 6, 2019KL Rahul after knowing that he won't have to bat again in this series. #ausvind pic.twitter.com/Vf7OL1RT3l— Bollywood Gandu (@BollywoodGandu) January 6, 2019Indian team is way to superior than this Aussie team . I think India A will also beat them :) . I just hope Australia doesn’t go the Srilanka way. The famous Aussie system needs to be awakened or else cricket will die !— Vikram Sathaye (@vikramsathaye) January 6, 2019"Slack, and not desperate enough" - Ricky Ponting slams the Australian mindset in not reviewing Lyon's lbw. And it's a very good point. Have they already given up?
