Virat Kohli wants harshest penalty for players caught doping

India v Sri Lanka - Tri-Series Game 11

Virat Kohli, who is going to lead India in the upcoming ODI series in Zimbabwe, speaks up about the recent doping incident in which Delhi Ranji and a Kolkata Knight Riders player Pradeep Sangwan was found guilty.

Kohli said: “This is not at all acceptable. Whoever doesn’t respect sport, makes it corrupt, should be handed the harshest punishment. Sport gives you everything in life. If you can’t respect the game, you don’t deserve to be there.”

This is only the second time in IPL history that a player has been found guilty due to consumption of banned drugs. The only player to found guilty in IPL before was Mohammed Asif.

Virat also said, “You may have taken an antibiotic. But if it has banned substance, you will test positive. You may not know about it.”
